Athletic Programs: Developing Godly Character & Relationships

At Summit Christian School, we believe that athletics is an integral part of Christian education. It helps our students develop intellectual, physical, spiritual, and social goals. Our athletes strive to participate in such a way that honors God, the school, our community, and the team. Summit puts an emphasis on encouraging friendships and strengthening relationships, enjoying the participation in a team sport, and developing individual and team skills. Overall, Summit strives for excellence in its athletes, coaches, and teams.

Our co-curricular programs encourage students’ creativity and help them discover beauty. We offer an Art Club (K-8), Choir (4-8th grade) and Run Club (K-8). GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) is for girls grades 1-8 and is a weekly activity encouraging confidence and “girl scout” type activities based on Biblical principles. Middle school students are also encouraged to participate in Youth Group at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Middle School Sports for Girls and Boys

At the middle school level, we currently offer track & field, girls' volleyball, boys' flag football, girls' and boys' basketball, and girls' and boys' soccer as a part of the Gulf Coast Christian Athletic Conference (G.C.C.A.C.). The goal of our middle school athletic program is to honor and glorify God with our talents. We also aim to develop friendships and enjoy strengthening our athletic skills. Our athletes learn the value of teamwork and sportsmanship under the direction of our experienced coaching staff.

Kindergarten Through Fifth Grade Programs

We also offer Bitty and Junior sports programs for K-5. Our Bitty and Junior Sports provide a unique opportunity for students in grades K-5 to participate in basketball and soccer on grade-level specific teams. Our teams compete against other Bitty and Junior teams from schools in our athletic league (GCCAC) on Saturday mornings during the months of January through April. The focus of the program is to teach players the value of teamwork and participation in sports through activities such as our Run Club.
