Here to Help Our Students Grow
Summit Christian School employs a talented, committed, professional and compassionate teaching staff. All of our teachers are licensed, certified and meet the requirements of the Florida Department of Education and Christian Schools of Florida, our accrediting agency. The teachers at our school partner with parents to make certain that each child receives the very best education possible. Our classes are intimate learning communities facilitated by our dedicated, knowledgeable, loving teachers.
Head of School
I grew up in Holland, Michigan and graduated from Calvin College in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education. Currently, I am in the Masters of Education in School Leadership at Dordt College. After getting married to my wife, Kristen, we moved to Fort Myers to teach at Summit. I taught Math and Science in 5th-8th grade for six years. This year, God has called me to change roles and serve as Summit’s Head of School. A distinguishing characteristic of Summit is the close community that our students and families have with one another. I am very thankful for the work that God is doing and has done in the hearts and minds of our students. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping, and playing board games.

I live in Cape Coral with my husband and two children. I love teaching here at Summit Christian School because I enjoy being a part of a school that believes in partnering with parents to raise up the next generation of people committed to Jesus Christ. I also love teaching my first graders about Jesus and His love for us and watching them reach out to one another in prayer. One of my favorite Bible verses is Joshua 24:15 “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

3rd Grade Teacher
After recently moving to Florida, I have joined the staff at Summit Christian School teaching 3rd grade. I graduated from Kean University in New Jersey with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education (K-8) and did my graduate work at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. For the past 16 years, I have worked in the Eastern York School District, PA. The last 10 of those years have been spent in the 7th grade, where I taught English Language Arts and Remedial Reading. I am a certified Reading Specialist along with my certifications in Elementary Education and English.
I previously taught 3rd grade in a Christian school while my husband was in Seminary in South Carolina. I love 3rd graders because they have blossoming abilities in math, reading, and writing which fuels their zest for learning and inquiry.
I am blessed to be on staff at Summit Christian School. I love the supportive, family atmosphere and the commitment to excellence as we strive to reflect Christ’s love in everything we do.
