Summit Christian School tests externally (outside the school) and internally (inside the school and classroom).
Summit Christian School tests to determine how the mission is met externally in the following manner:
- Student surveys that include questions that relate directly to the School’s mission
- Self-evaluation by the board of trustees occurs in which the School is evaluated against the standards from our accrediting association, Christian Schools of Florida (CSF).
- Accreditation occurs on a five-year cycle in which commendations and recommendations for change enable trustees to plan for improvement.
- A Community survey to determine if the School is meeting its mission is conducted with the parent group and then outward to other schools that receive our students upon graduation from our highest level.
Summit Christian School tests to determine how the mission is met internally in the following manner:
- School-wide testing of achievement using the nationally-normed test, the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills, occurs annually. Building test results are published for the families and broader community.
School-wide testing of four or five goals derived from our mission will occur at three grade levels (4, 6, 8). These goals reflect the fusion of Christian principles of life with knowledge gained through classroom learning. The School expects to compare the results over time.
