August 25 is the first day of school for grades K-8. Whether you’re sad (boohoo) or glad (yahoo!), come and enjoy coffee and pastries at the PTF table after walking your student to the classroom.

All Pre-K parents are invited to stop by the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) table on Tuesday, August 24, after bringing their little ones to their classrooms. Meet other parents, have some coffee and pastries, and enjoy that memorable first day of school!

Join us for our Kick-Off Ice Cream Social on Monday, August 23. Classrooms will be open from 6-6:30 to accept student’s supplies. At 6:30 we’ll meet in the sanctuary to hear from our new Head of School, John DeMaster. Ice cream sundaes will be served in the courtyard afterwards.

School begins on Wednesday, August 25 for grades K-8. Preschool begins on August 24.

The 2010 Summit Scholars Award

Summit Christian School has announced the recipients of the first annual Summit Scholars Award. The $500 scholarship will be bestowed annually to up to three fifth graders demonstrating academic excellence.

This year’s recipients are (pictured left to right) Chance Kirchner of Sanibel Island, Trey Cerwinsky of Fort Myers, and Katerina Mavridou-Hernandez of Fort Myers. The Board and Administration of Summit Christian School extends its congratulations to these fine students.
